Mistletoe Movie Star

Mistletoe Movie Star

Can his fame and her tenacity ensure the homeless will have a place to stay?

Mistletoe Meadows is built around the magic of Christmas. As jingling sleighs cart rosy-cheeked lovers around the Mistletoe Mile, Charlene’s holiday dream is more complicated than photoshopped perfection. She proposes a compassion ministry initiative called the Gingerbread House but struggles to convince the town that their need for a homeless shelter is real.

Famous for his made for television holiday movies, Jonas longs for a happily-ever-after that isn’t as neat and tidy as his unrealistic films. Partnering with Char to champion her ministry invigorates him with a new purpose and provides an excuse to spend time with the girl he never forgot. But when they embrace three young sisters fighting to stay together while living on the streets, their project becomes deeply personal.

Together, they prove to a town reluctant to see anything other than holiday perfection that the greatest gift of the season isn’t found under a tree.

About the Book

Book three set in Mistletoe Meadows.

Julia Wilson, from Christian Bookaholic: Mistletoe Movie Star by Stacey Weeks is a delightful contemporary Christian novella that will warm your heart.

The reader becomes cocooned in the friendly welcome from the town of Mistletoe. It is a town with a social conscience and a heart for the homeless.

There are battles to be overcome. It is important to remember that not every battle we fight is ours. Sometimes we just have to be still and let the Lord fight for us. We must press into Him and trust His guiding.

We need to make church a priority. It is where other believers can strengthen us and where we can strengthen them. No matter how busy our lives, it is vital to connect with the body of Christ.

There is the theme of taking care of the orphans. The vulnerable need us to look out for them.

Everyone wants a place to call home. We have physical homes and spiritual homes but sometimes ‘home’ is wrapped up in the ones we love. No matter what we do or where we go, we all long for a home.

There was a physical rescue in the tale that reminded me that we are all in need of a rescue by God. Alone we stumble. In Him we come home.

Mistletoe Movie Star was such a charming read. The characters were wonderful and their love for others was vast. I adored the story.

I received this book for free. A favourable review was not required and all views expressed are my own.

Author Carol James: A wonderful reminder of the true meaning of Christmas

I’ve enjoyed all three of Stacey Weeks’ Mistletoe Christmas novellas, but this was by far my favorite. The hero, Jonah Blade, has become a popular, successful actor. But when family business arises, he returns home to find his high school crush, Char, still living in town, and still unmarried. Many years have passed, and many things have changed. But a burden for the growing homeless population in and around Mistletoe Meadows draws Jonah and Char back together in an effort to creatively solve the problem.

This is such a timely story, so tenderly written. I love it when the author creates characters that I can really root for. Mistletoe Movie Star is a wonderful read that will put you in the holiday spirit by reminding you what Christmas is all about.

Author Katy Eeten: This is a heartwarming tale of second chances and compassion for the less fortunate. I love how Jonas and Char come together to care for others, putting others’ needs above their own. An impactful Christmas story. Cute ending, too!
